Gabrielle Union Embraces Renaissance Art Inspiration in Fendi Couture Gown at Gotham Awards 2022

by WEM MAG

Gabrielle Union wore an all-black ensemble to the 2022 Gotham Awards in New York City on Monday. The actress wore a detailed gown from Fendi’s spring 2022 couture collection to the awards.

The sleeveless gown had a mock neck and a white and gray illustration of a Greek statue on the bodice. The gown was cinched at the waist and featured a billowy wide train. Thomas Christos Kikis, Union’s longtime stylist, assisted in creating the look. Sofia Vergara, AnnaSophia Robb, and Elle Macpherson are among his clients.

She completed her stunning ensemble with a silver bangle and a pair of black ultra-high platform shoes. Union wore a dramatic glam look with sharp eyeliner, rosy cheeks, and brown nude lips. Union wore her hair in a sleek top knot bun with a gold hair tie around the base.

Union attended the awards show alongside Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Adam Sandler, and Aubrey Plaza. Sandler was named Best Film Performer.

Union has had many memorable fashion moments, the most recent being this one. The actress wore a black Vivienne Westwood corseted gown to the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. She has also made inroads into the beauty and wellness industries, relaunching her hair care line, Flawless by Gabrielle Union, in 2020 and debuting Proudly, her and her husband Dwyane Wade’s, this year.

The Gotham Awards honor outstanding work in independent film each year. The ceremony is regarded as the unofficial start of awards season. The awards were first given out in 1991 to recognize independent filmmakers and actors. Ben Whishaw, Charlotte Wells, Todd Field, Gracija Filipovi, Ke Huy Quan, and Danielle Deadwyler were among those honored at this year’s ceremony.
