The 56th annual Country Music Awards was an evening of fabulous entertainment, red carpet fashion, and more.

It was Kelly Clarkson’s performance who sang alongside stars Kelsea Ballerini and Carly Pearce that took the night, performing the song, “You’re Drunk, Go Home”.

In fact, Kelsea told Audacy that Kelly and Carly had never met before the performance. She said, “They’ve never met, and they’re mutual fans of each other, so I feel like a musical matchmaker where I get to just watch them fall in love. I’m very excited!” She continued, “It’s just such a fun song too. It’s a light moment, it’s a sassy and very country.”

All three women happen to be divoree’s which made the performance even more powerful with strong women.

The cherry on top of the evening was Kelly’s rendition of “I Will Always Love You” in tribute to Dolly Parton. Dolly is truly a country music legend and it was only appropriate that another legend in the making honors her. Parton and the rest of the crowd was unprepared for this beautiful number which had them all  in awe and in tears.
